JAMB To Stop Setting Uniform Cut-off Mark For Universities, Polytechnics And COE's

The Registrar, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Is-haq Oloyede, has stated that the board is working with the Federal Government to achieve the needed change in the education sector through its policy reforms.

According to a statement made by the JAMB boss through the board’s Head, Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin, one of such reforms it carried out recently was the cancellation of the use of scratch cards as part of its examination process.
The statement added that Mr. Oloyede has called for a national debate on the issue of standard cut-off marks for institutions; stating that institutions should be allowed to determine the kind of candidates they wanted .

In his opinion, making the cut-off mark uniform for universities, polytechnics and Colleges of education does not make sense since universities admits for degrees, polytechnics for Diplomas and Colleges of education for NCE
He said this has hindered polytechnics and colleges of education form admitting candidates they ought to have admitted.
